Am I wrong in thinking that it looks like it’s pretty much all-out war in Israel at this point? I mean, there’s missiles flying about, and it just looks/sounds like it’s basically full-blown war at this point.
Anyone have any ideas whether this is likely to escalate into something that involves more than just Israel and Hezbollah? I don’t know enough about anything in this region to hazard a guess, but it sure doesn’t look good, to me.
Rumor has it that if “official” war breaks out in the region, that oil could rise to $120 a barrel. Whee! 😐

An Israeli friend of mine was telling me about how he sees the situation and let me in on a lot of stuff that makes Israeli papers and not the U.S. (at least what I’ve seen).
Most notably, that Hezbollah weren’t supposed to be anywhere near Israel. It was a peaceful border until Lebanon violated the agreement with Israel and let Hezbollah near the border and to capture the Israeli soldiers.
In any case, I think the question is Hezbollah. Whether or not they are seen as completely legitimate or a terrorist group, and whether Israel expands the scope of its attacks based on this choice.
Hezbollah shot 90 missile into Israel the last couple days and the Israel response is mainly about cutting apart Hezbollah.
If Hezbollah is marginalized, then I don’t see it expanding. However, if people rally around Hezbollah, then it will likely expand further.
It’s up to 120 missiles now.
